Course Description

This module has been designed for current and future aviation professional intending to carry out Operational Management duties in the maintenance and operational airline environment. It will establish an understanding of regulatory compliance as the basic to normal operations and maintenance of company reputation and market share. It will provide students with the knowledge required to develop and implement formal Compliance Monitoring Systems for Airline operations. The module is structured around the ISO 900 standards, Annex III (PART-ORO) to European Commission Regulation (EU) No 965/2012 and EC Regulation 1321/2014 (Part M) quality requirements.

• Cost effective Quality Management

ISO 9000 series of standards

• Part-ORO quality requirements for air operators

• Industry best practices (IOSA, ISAGO, etc.)

• Quality System documentation

• Writing manuals, plans & procedures

• The role of the Accountable Manager, Compliance Monitoring Manager, Safety Manager and Nominated Persons

• Quality Audits for Air Operations

• Handling non-conformance

• Management evaluation

• Safety Management incorporation

• Integrated airline management

 

A variety of learning and teaching methodologies will be used including: presentations, group work, case studies, exercises and discussion. You will be encouraged to contribute to the module through active participation in the classroom setting.
