City has a strong standing within creative industries, ranking 1st in London for Communication and Media Studies in the Complete University Guide 2018. Our creative industries short courses, taught by experts in the field, are designed to help you update and develop you knowledge and skills in filmmaking, events management, journalism, art and music. Progression You can study for one term or across three terms. Further progression can be attained through our CPD programmes. Flexibility You can join the course of your choice in October, January or April. The creative industries short courses enable you to build an understanding of processes needed to succeed and develop the skills to enhance your capabilities within your creative niche. Teaching methods Some evening classes may require onsite visits to filming locations; information about these visits is provided in advanced by the short course tutor. Achievements Former short course students have gone on to work within production and script-writing as a result of attending our creative industry short courses. With online lectures using software instruments, you will gain an in-depth understanding of how to use discrete circuits as well as composite electronic instruments capably, confidently and above all creatively. You will learn how to apply the techniques, philosophies and approaches covered over the course to a modern practice of synthesis leveraging the knowledge, expertise, and renowned sound studios of the Department of Performing Arts at City St George’s.
