This 2-hour online workshop is designed for care home leaders who want to enhance quality of life for residents by engaging with findings from the UK’s largest qualitative study into the experiences of older people living in care homes.
Detailed Description
This workshop will support care leaders to engage with UK’s largest qualitative research study of the experiences of older people living in care homes, and consider how the learnings could be applied in their own care service to enhance quality of life.
CQC requires care homes to demonstrate that they are using the most up-to-date evidence to support their practice. This workshop draws on the Thriving in Residential Care research from My Home Life England, the UK’s largest qualitative study of older people’s experiences in care homes.
Through participatory activities, attendees will explore the six ‘Thriving’ themes that emerged from the research and reflect on how these can be applied in their own settings. The session will offer practical tools and ideas to support improvements in care practice and align with the CQC’s single assessment framework.
