An Introduction and Overview to Contraception

These two days have been developed for staff who has started in primary care and who are required to give care to women in relation to pill checks and depo injections and who have not had training before. It will also give an overview of all methods so staff can give information, so women have understanding to enable them to give consent about the method chosen.

The day covers all methods of contraception and introduces sexual health screening in practice.

This 2 day course is also useful for anyone who has completed their contraception/ sexual course in the past and who have not practiced in this field for a while and want a full update.

Pregnancy testing
Combined Oral Contraception
Progesterone Only Pill   Emergency contraception methods
Depo Provera
Contraception for the older woman
Intrauterine Devices /Intrauterine Systems
All methods are linked to the UKMEC to insure safe care.
